Hey, Wild Woman.
Let's go on an adventure.
Welcome to your Outdoor Adventure Community.
Women in the Wild Adventures was created to support you in every phase of your adventures, from your first step into a community park to your tenth multi-day excursion through the mountains. This community is designed to facilitate the growth and development of backcountry skills while fostering confidence and bringing women together
Members and ambassadors host free in-person events local to where they are such as day hikes, afternoons paddling lakes, climb sessions, camping trips, and weekly walking groups. Community admins also host free local events, as well as paid international trips, courses and community events.
Safety is the central pillar that holds up our community. One of the biggest reasons we hear women do not get outside and exploring is because they do not feel safe, and this includes a fear of other people on the trails. For this reason, event details and group chats are hidden behind a membership wall so that only members know exactly where we will be, and when.
Becoming a member gives you access to see and participate in our group chats, free events, and paid events such as courses, international trips, and connection events like sauna sessions. You'll also receive our newsletter with updates from the community, international trip announcements before they're posted to social media, gear discounts and more.
Read below to learn how you can become a member (it's free!)
membership
To become a member you must submit a membership application. You can do this by clicking the "Log In" button on the top-right of your screen (or on your mobile by clicking the 3 lines on the top right of your screen, then "Log In"), then clicking "Sign Up." Within this application you are required to submit a photo of yourself holding a piece of government-issued ID next to your face for comparison. This is mandatory for the safety and security of our community and its members. We recommend covering sensitive information such as your address. Rest assured, Trish is the only person who will every see your submission, the photo is not saved on any devices, and once your application is approved the photo is deleted off the web server. HOW WE GOT STARTED
A word from our founder:
It's hard to believe now, but just a couple years back I didn't have any female friends who were willing to go hiking. My girlfriends felt overwhelmed and underprepared, so I was always going alone. After years of being a solo adventurer I decided to create the community I craved, one where I could facilitate growth in a comfortable group setting and we could all help build on each other's knowledge and skills.
What started as a private Facebook group with 67 members in Vancouver, BC is now a community of over 1000,000 around the world, and we continue to grow.
